Korede Bello Shares Journey from Islam to Christianity

Nigerian singer Korede Bello has opened up about his spiritual journey, revealing how he transitioned from Islam to Christianity and reflecting on the true meaning of Christ’s resurrection.

In a heartfelt Instagram video, Bello questioned the common focus on Jesus’ crucifixion, explaining that Christ’s sacrifice is complete.

“Does Jesus still belong on the cross? Before you crucify me, know that I am a Christian and Christ has already died for me.

He has been crucified for me, so there’s no need for that,” he said.
The singer said this insight came during a personal moment of prayer and reflection.

“I was praying and looking at the cross when it hit me that He’s no longer on it. Jesus is seated right next to the Father.

That’s where I am,” Bello shared.
Bello also opened up about his personal faith journey. Born a Muslim, he said he studied the Bible on his own not for religious obligation, but for personal growth.

“I had to start at the Bible myself not for religious reasons, but for personal reasons,” he explained.
He encouraged Christians to focus on love and the risen Christ rather than remaining fixated on the cross.

“Our faith and identity are in Christ who has ascended and is right next to the Father… Staying at the cross is like nailing Christ over and over again,” he said.

On the subject of communion, Bello emphasized the true meaning behind the practice: “Jesus said when you eat the bread and drink the wine, do it in remembrance of me.

He didn’t say remember me on the cross.”
Bello concluded his message by urging believers to live renewed, Christ-like lives: “Be well, be safe, be renewed, and be Christ-like. Think mega.”
