Kano: 100 APC Members Decamp to NNPP

No fewer than 100 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Tarai, Kibiya Local Government Area of Kano State have dumped the party for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), according to the state government.

A female APC leader was among those who defected and was received by Adamu Kibiya, Kano State Commissioner for the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

On Wednesday in Kano, Balarabe Kiru, Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, stated that the Kano State Commissioner of the Ministry, Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, welcomed over 100 APC supporters from Tarai in Kibiya Local Government Area. The group, led by the party’s female leader, had defected to the NNPP.

According to Kiru, the defectors, led by APC woman leader Hajiya Sabuwa Tarai, said they were motivated to join the NNPP by the development projects and programs carried out under Governor Yusuf’s administration. He added that citizens were particularly impressed by the numerous initiatives implemented at both the state and local government levels.

The commissioner welcomed the defectors into the NNPP family, assuring them of equal treatment and urging them to collaborate for the advancement of both the party and the state.

Meanwhile, Hajiya Bintoto, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Enlightenment, congratulated the new members and assured them that the NNPP would provide a conducive environment for them to contribute their best.

Sabo Abdullahi, Chairman of NNPP in Kibiya Local Government Area, expressed his happiness at the increasing number of people joining the party, crediting the governor’s transformative work in the state.
