Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued 10 women abducted from their farms in Sanga LGA, Kaduna State, and recovered ₦1.6 million believed to be part of the ransom.
The women were kidnapped on November 29 at Ungwan Nungu, sparking days of intensive search operations by soldiers of 1 Division under Operation FANSAN YANMA. According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the military engaged the kidnappers on Friday morning around 6:40 a.m., as they attempted to collect ransom from the victims’ relatives.
The attackers reportedly abandoned the women and fled after encountering superior firepower. During the operation, troops recovered a fabricated AK-47, one round of 9mm ammunition, and the ransom money.
All rescued women have been debriefed and reunited with their families, while efforts continue to track the fleeing suspects.
