Residents of Special Site in Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State have been thrown into shock and outrage following the discovery of aborted twins dumped at a refuse site.
The remains of the male and female foetuses, believed to be about five months old, were reportedly found on Wednesday inside a polythene bag behind the residence of a commercial driver, identified as Enman Danladi.
According to eyewitness accounts, the disturbing discovery was made by a local farmer who noticed a dog persistently sniffing a bag at the dump, with flies gathered around it.
Suspicious of the scene, the farmer reportedly chased the dog away and opened the bag, only to uncover the lifeless remains.
Recounting the incident, Danladi said the farmer alerted him immediately after the discovery.
“I had just returned from work when the man knocked on my door and asked me to follow him to the refuse dump behind my house,” he said.
“He explained that he had been chasing away a dog that was sniffing a polythene bag.
When he checked the contents, he found the aborted twins and quickly came to inform me.”

Danladi added that he mobilised neighbours to the scene, after which the remains were buried at the site.
The incident has since triggered widespread grief and condemnation within the community. Residents described the act as inhumane and contrary to their cultural and moral values.
A resident, Joshua Lamba, condemned the act, questioning the erosion of humanity.
“Where is our humanity? We condemn this atrocity because our people are not known for such acts. No one has the right to take another life, regardless of the circumstances,” he said.
Another resident, Philip Jatau, expressed disbelief over the incident, noting the emotional toll it has taken on members of the community.
“It is difficult to comprehend. One woman, who has been married for years without a child, broke down in tears,” he added.
Residents have called on relevant authorities to launch a thorough investigation to identify those responsible and ensure such an incident does not recur.
Efforts to reach the Plateau State Police Command for official confirmation were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
