
A 35-year-old woman, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children have been brutally murdered by suspected hoodlums in Dorayi Chanchagi Quarters, Kano city.
The victims, members of the household of one Haruna Bashir, were attacked by unknown assailants who reportedly broke into their home and carried out the heinous act.
Fatima Abubakar was found lying in a pool of blood inside the house, while her youngest child was allegedly thrown into a nearby well.

Confirming the incident, the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said in a statement issued yesterday that the victims were attacked with dangerous weapons, which resulted in fatal injuries.
“Upon arrival at the scene, the police evacuated the bodies of the deceased and rushed them to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, where they were pronounced dead,” the statement said.
The police command disclosed that a thorough investigation had commenced into the circumstances surrounding the brutal attack. According to the statement, a team of investigators led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), ACP Wada Jarma, has been mandated to uncover those responsible and bring them to justice.
The command also extended its condolences to the bereaved family, residents of Dorayi Chanchagi, and the people of Kano State.
