
Gunmen have abducted a staff member of Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Health during a late-night attack on his residence in Abuja, further raising concerns over insecurity in the nation’s capital.
The victim, identified as 47-year-old Sunday Ani, was reportedly taken in the early hours of March 29 at his home in the Chikakore area of Kubwa, within the Bwari Area Council.
According to sources familiar with the incident, the attackers stormed the residence around 2 a.m., overpowering any resistance before whisking him away to an unknown destination.
Ani, who works as a driver with the Federal Ministry of Health, is said to be an indigene of Ebonyi State. His sudden disappearance has left family members and residents in distress, as there has been no communication regarding his condition or whereabouts.
