
Suspected gunmen attacked Sabon Gyero community in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, early Monday, leaving one person dead and abducting seven others.
The attackers reportedly stormed a residence, abducting three women and four children, before moving to a nearby phone charging centre.
There, they shot a young man identified as Abdullahi Lawal, popularly known as “Kurma,” and stole several mobile phones and laptops.

Lawal, who was deaf and non-verbal, was rushed to a hospital but died on the way. He was later buried according to Islamic rites.
Commandant of the Joint Task Force in the area, Uwaisu Yunusa, said security operatives responded after hearing gunshots but the attackers had already fled.
The Nigeria Police Force has yet to issue an official statement. Residents continue to express concern over the rising insecurity in the area.
