
The burial of late gospel singer Omije Ojumi has been postponed due to a family dispute.
Lanre Alewilese, a colleague of the deceased, shared the update on Instagram on behalf of the burial planning committee.
He revealed that ongoing issues within the singer’s family made it impossible to carry out the funeral as planned.
“This is to inform you that all burial plans for our late sister and colleague, Bunmi Akinnaanu, have been CANCELLED due to issues arising within her family.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience,” Alewilese wrote.
The burial had initially been scheduled for Wednesday, January 20, 2026.
