Dangote Refinery to Nigerians: Report Any MRS Station Selling Fuel Above ₦739

Nigerians have been urged to report any MRS filling station nationwide found selling petrol above the approved price of N739 per litre.
This call was made in a statement issued on Sunday, in which Dangote Refinery clarified that its petrol at retail outlets must sell at N739 per litre, while the gantry price remains fixed at N699 per litre.

It also urged other filling station operators to buy its refined petroleum products at the N699 per litre rate, stressing that wider participation would allow the price reduction to reach consumers nationwide.

According to the refinery, such cooperation would ensure that Nigerians enjoy the benefits of the lower price across all outlets, delivering broad-based relief and promoting greater stability in the downstream petroleum market.

Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Refinery, had earlier pegged the maximum retail price of petrol from his refinery at N740 per litre.

MRS filling stations and other outlets subsequently reduced pump prices to between N739 and N912 per litre in Abuja. However, reports later emerged that some MRS filling stations were selling petrol above the announced N739 per litre benchmark.
