Lagos, January 6, 2026 – Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, who previously ignored a police invitation, reported to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, on Tuesday for questioning.
Okafor’s defiance followed an ongoing investigation involving his estranged lover, actress Doris Ogalla, at the Zone 2 Command in Onikan.
Sources say he initially ignored the SCID summons because a related case was already active at the zonal command. However, warnings from highly placed individuals prompted him to present himself.
A senior police officer said Okafor’s statement was recorded, but he was not detained due to the absence of complainants. Authorities have reached out to alleged victims, offering protection and transport, but none have come forward so far.
The pastor has been accused by multiple women—including ex-lovers, congregants, and even his daughter—of sexual misconduct, abuse of authority, and other serious allegations.

The controversy intensified after Ogalla publicly accused him of breaking a marriage promise, sharing private materials, and attempting to bribe her to retract her claims.
Okafor had initially denied the allegations but later admitted to some, issued a public apology, and stepped aside as senior pastor.
Meanwhile, Ogalla has demanded N1 billion in damages, citing intimidation and threats following her detention by police.
SP Abimbola Adebisi, Lagos Police spokesperson, confirmed Okafor’s appearance at SCID but gave no further details.
The Lagos Police Command has stated it will allow the Zone 2 investigation to continue while remaining open to new complainants.
