Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Samson Adamu as its acting Secretary General, marking a historic moment as the first Nigerian to occupy the role since the organisation was founded in 1957.
The announcement was made on Sunday during a CAF congress held in Cairo, following the resignation of Veron Mosengo-Omba, who stepped down the same day.
Adamu, who previously served as CAF’s Director of Tournaments and Events, was nominated by the Executive Committee and approved by the congress, officially placing him in charge of the body’s administration.
