Three police officers were reportedly killed on Sunday following a fresh bandit attack on the Tangani and Sayaya communities in Musawa and Matazu Local Government Areas of Katsina State.
The incident was disclosed by Lawal Batagarawa, a former Minister of State for Education and a leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Katsina State, while addressing journalists. He said the attack occurred as residents were still reacting to earlier reports of violence, noting that both communities, along with nearby villages, were affected.
Batagarawa expressed deep concern over the continued insecurity in northern Nigeria, describing the killings as part of a troubling pattern seen across several states, including Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Niger, and Plateau.
