APC Labels PDP ‘Reckless, Unpatriotic’ Over Call for Foreign Intervention

APC Slams PDP Over ‘Foreign Invasion’ Claims. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for labeling certain events in Nigeria as a foreign invasion.

In a statement on Tuesday, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, called the PDP’s remarks “reckless and unpatriotic,” criticizing the opposition party for what he described as an attempt to undermine national unity.

PDP Faction Chairman Appeals to Foreign Powers Over Alleged ‘Christian Genocide’ Tanimu Turaki, the newly appointed factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has urged foreign powers to intervene in Nigeria.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday amid the party’s ongoing crisis, Turaki claimed that the country is facing a “Christian genocide” and called for international action to safeguard democracy.

Turaki’s first action as factional chairman was to openly call for a foreign intervention in Nigeria, presenting it as a fix for the PDP’s self‑inflicted internal crisis. Such a statement is not only reckless and unpatriotic, but also shameless, posing a clear threat to national security and the country’s sovereignty.

According to the APC, even during the PDP’s 16 years in power—marked by what they described as ruthless suppression of opposition—there was never a time the party or its leaders invited foreign forces to interfere in Nigeria’s affairs or resolve disputes within rival political groups.

APC urges international community to ignore PDP’s unpatriotic call. Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary, said the party trusts the international community to dismiss the PDP’s “disgraceful and unpatriotic” appeal, describing it as a mere distraction from the opposition party’s internal democratic failures and ongoing disintegration.
