Anambra government urges turnout for governorship election

The Anambra State Government has called on all eligible voters to turn out in large numbers and take an active part in the upcoming governorship election slated for Saturday, November 8, 2025.

In a press statement, the state Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, emphasized that participating in the forthcoming election offers citizens a vital opportunity to express their commitment to governance.

He noted that robust voter participation is essential to improve upon the low turnout witnessed in the 2021 governorship poll, where only about 200,000 out of more than 2.7 million registered voters cast their ballots.

Full participation in the electoral process, according to the government, represents a vital act of civic responsibility and a strong commitment to democratic values.

As the Light of the Nation, Anambra has always been a trailblazer. Dr. Mefor therefore urged Ndi Anambra to once again lead by example by turning out in large numbers to vote peacefully and responsibly.
