Alleged Rape: Pastor Chris Okafor Challenges VDM, Doris Ogala, Others to Produce Evidence

The legal team of popular cleric, Pastor Chris Okafor, has challenged social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), actress Doris Ogala and other accusers to present credible evidence of their allegations to the Nigeria Police, warning that failure to do so would attract decisive legal action.

Speaking to journalists in Lagos, Pastor Okafor’s counsel, Ife Ajayi, dismissed the allegations circulating on social media as false, malicious and part of a coordinated campaign of cyberbullying, blackmail and public incitement against his client.

Ajayi said the accusations, which resurfaced in December 2025, originated from Doris Ogala and were later amplified by bloggers, influencers and some online media platforms without any attempt to seek Pastor Okafor’s side of the story.

“Our client is a law-abiding citizen and a private individual. What is happening is neither journalism nor advocacy, but a deliberate effort to tarnish his reputation through falsehoods and sensational narratives,” Ajayi stated.

He recalled that Ogala had initially accused Pastor Okafor in late 2024 of owing her N45 million, a claim he said arose from a terminated business relationship.

According to him, the dispute later degenerated into persistent online attacks, monetary demands and allegations of a supposed affair, which eventually escalated into claims of murder, rape and sexual misconduct.

Ajayi revealed that Ogala had previously been arrested and charged for cyberstalking and cyberbullying over similar conduct, but the matter was amicably resolved after Pastor Okafor agreed to withdraw the charges.

He said the court-adopted settlement included a clause restraining Ogala from mentioning Pastor Okafor publicly or making further claims against him.

“She received a settlement sum and expressly undertook never to mention our client again. At no point during that process did she allege rape, sexual assault or an affair. These allegations only emerged after she breached the settlement,” Ajayi said.

The lawyer added that Ogala was arrested again before Christmas 2025 over fresh allegations and questioned by police in Lagos, during which she reportedly denied making some of the most serious claims attributed to her.

He noted that she was granted administrative bail on health grounds and warned against returning to social media with unproven accusations.

Ajayi also accused VDM and other platforms, including a podcast, of acting as accusers, investigators and judges by soliciting allegations from the public online instead of directing them to law enforcement agencies.

“If anyone has evidence of rape, murder or any crime, the appropriate place is the police station, not social media. You cannot incite the public and then hide under the guise of freedom of speech,” he said.

He disclosed that Pastor Okafor had honoured police invitations, cooperated fully with investigators at the State CID, Panti, Lagos, and submitted what he described as irrefutable evidence refuting claims of sexual assault, child abuse or homicide.

Ajayi said the legal team is monitoring several social media accounts allegedly spreading false narratives and has filed criminal complaints against those involved.

He concluded by issuing a formal challenge to Ogala, VDM and other accusers to submit their allegations and evidence to the police within days.

“If they genuinely believe these claims, let them swear to them, produce witnesses and present proof to the authorities. Otherwise, we will ensure they face the full weight of the law,” he warned.
