Nigerian actress Idia Aisien has opened up about her past experiences in toxic relationships, revealing that she once spent millions of naira supporting men she dated, only to be hurt in return.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Toke Makinwa, Aisien said she used to financially assist several partners who claimed they were struggling with their businesses.
According to the actress, she believed helping a partner during difficult times would strengthen the relationship and eventually lead to mutual support in the future. However, some of those experiences ended painfully.
She recalled one incident where she gave a boyfriend money to support his business. Later, she discovered the funds had allegedly been used to fly another woman on a business-class trip to Dubai.

Aisien explained that she initially became suspicious when she could not reach him by phone. The man claimed his phone was faulty and said he was in Lagos. The truth later emerged when her brother informed her that he had seen the man traveling with another woman and even sent photographic evidence.
When confronted, the man reportedly claimed he had been “dragged” on the trip by friends and insisted it was still connected to business.
Reacting during the interview, Makinwa criticized Aisien’s approach, arguing that a woman should not financially support a man she is not married to.
She emphasized that a man’s success or struggles should remain his personal responsibility unless the couple is already married.
The discussion sparked conversation online about financial boundaries and expectations in modern relationships.
