Senior Pastor Chris Okafor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries has issued a public apology to actress Doris Ogala, kneeling before his congregation as a sign of remorse over past actions.
The apology follows allegations by Ogala that Okafor was involved in an affair with her, made and broke promises of marriage, and shared explicit content—claims that ignited a widely publicised dispute. She also alleged that Okafor offered her $10,000 to withdraw claims that she had been paid by rival pastors to tarnish his reputation.
In a video that has since gone viral, Okafor addressed his congregation, admitting to personal shortcomings and expressing readiness to make amends. He mentioned Ogala by name while apologising but insisted that many of her accusations were false, describing them as containing “so many lies.”

“Listen, we’re not joining issues. Mistakes have been made in the past, and I tender an apology to everybody,” he said. “I am sorry to everyone I have offended, to Doris Ogala also. I apologise to everyone that I’ve offended.”
He added that he was willing to make restitution to anyone he had wronged, saying, “Any lady I have offended, I am sorry. Forgive me.”
Acknowledging his flaws, Okafor stated, “I’m not perfect. I’ve never been perfect,” before kneeling and asking the church for forgiveness and prayers.
Ogala later responded, saying she had forgiven Okafor but rejected his assertion that her allegations were false. “Chris Okafor, I forgive you, but there’s a problem. Where you said everything is a lie—I have a problem with that because I don’t lie,” she wrote.
The apology comes amid ongoing controversy, as Ogala has filed a ₦1 billion lawsuit against Okafor, citing emotional distress, reputational damage, and breach of trust.
