Nollywood actress and skitmaker, Aluko Olukemi Gold, popularly known as Diva Gold, continues to carve a niche for herself in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

In a recent interview with Sunday Sun, the talented and light-skinned actress opened up about her boundaries when it comes to accepting roles, dealing with cheating partners, as well as her expectations in relationships.

As year 2025 draws to a close, what are you most grateful for?

I am most grateful for growth. Yes, I’m still grateful for the opportunities that I didn’t know I was going to have or I was going to get. You know, career-wise growth, personal growth. God has really taken me higher, even in opportunities that I didn’t see coming. God has been faithful, so growth is what I’m most grateful for.

What would you say is your best achievement this year?

Well, my best achievement this year is that I’m more visible as an actor. My versatility has really made way or paved way for me. I’ve been able to take on challenging roles that I didn’t even know that I could do. To the glory of God I’ve been able to take on challenging roles, connecting with wider audience, more range. Above all, growth is my biggest achievement this year, I’m super grateful to God.

Are there certain movie roles you can’t take even if the pay is juicy?

I believe in boundaries as an actor. There are certain roles that might clash with my values and brand. It might also be misinterpret as a person, so, I politely decline those types of roles or skits. For me, it’s not about the money, it’s about the legacy that I’m building and leaving behind. If it doesn’t represent me well on the outside, I will politely decline.

What do you look out for when you have a deep kissing script?

Professionalism, then I look at the script, do we really need to kiss? Is it necessary? Cause there are some script that they just write, “kissing kissing kissing” but kissing is not really necessary. Then I look at the director’s vision, when I mean professionalism, I let the other actor know once they say cut, it will be as if I didn’t just kiss anybody. Do you understand now? We don’t really necessarily have to have a deep kiss. We can mimick it. 

Overall, we just look out for good hygiene, the co-actor has to have good breath, fresh breath. I don’t know how to hide my facial expressions, that’s the thing.

Ever had an embarrassing kissing scene?

Yeah, I’ve had one before. So, in the scene I was supposed to feed him from my mouth, and I already figured out that the actor had bad breath. It might be because he didn’t talk for long. I don’t think it was like a bad hygiene. So, I did it in a way our lips will not touch, but this man carried my head and shove it in his mouth. I was like “Jesus, why do you have to do this?” I was literally fighting for breath. So yeah, that was an embarrassing kissing scene that I don’t even want to do. Why do I need to feed somebody from my mouth?

What can make you forgive a cheating partner?

Forgiveness depends on the depth of the betrayal, that’s what I believe. I don’t know until I’m there, but one thing I know is that, once that trust is broken, it will be really hard to fix, it’s going to be really hard to rebuild it. 

Love, sex and money which comes first for you?

I’ll say love, because without love the remaining two feel empty. Why I’m saying that is, I might not love you and still spend your money, that’s okay. But if I don’t love you, I can’t have sex with you, I can’t be intimate with you because I need that connection. I need to be able to feel, I need to be able to kiss you, I need to be able to look into your eyes and say “yes, this is my man”. So, in conclusion with love, sex and money together, life becomes more meaningful. 

Do you have new projects that you are excited about?

Yes, I have a lot of new projects I’m excited about. In fact, I wish they can all drop at once. I’ve been cooking. God has been cooking through me and I can say for a fact. Through Christ Jesus that strengthens me, you guys are going to love the stories that are coming up. I can’t really say much yet, but expect intensity, emotions, and stories that will move you people, I promise. I’m nothing without God.
