Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle says victory in the 2026 World Cup playoffs will motivate his team to chase a fourth AFCON title in 2025.
Preparing for the playoffs kicking off in Morocco next Thursday, the Super Eagles will afterwards shift their focus to the Africa Cup of Nations.
Chelle expressed confidence that triumphing in the World Cup playoffs would set his team on course for greater success in Morocco.
“Our immediate focus is the World Cup play-offs,” he told cafonline. “Winning those games will give us the momentum we need. If we enter AFCON on the back of that success, it’ll be hard for anyone to stop us.”
Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face Tunisia, Tanzania, and Uganda in Group C at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
