The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has seized and evacuated prohibited alcoholic beverages and suspected counterfeit food products during an enforcement operation at Oke-Arin Market in Lagos State.
The operation was carried out by officers of NAFDAC’s Investigation and Enforcement Directorate, who discovered alcoholic drinks packaged in sachets and PET bottles with capacities below 200ml.
An official, while identifying some of the seized products, confirmed that the alcoholic beverages were packaged in containers below the prohibited 200ml threshold.
The enforcement team also discovered unregistered food products and alcoholic beverages suspected to be counterfeit. All identified items were evacuated from the market for further investigation.
