A 40-year-old British woman, Claire Chadwick, has died in Nigeria alongside her unborn daughter after developing complications during the final weeks of her pregnancy.
Chadwick, who hailed from Cardiff, Wales, was reportedly 37 weeks pregnant when her baby girl died in the womb. She subsequently developed sepsis and died from septic shock, her family confirmed.
According to reports, Claire had relocated to Nigeria to join her husband, Ibrahim, after the couple gained attention on social media through videos documenting their relationship, faith and food challenges on TikTok and Instagram.
Described by her family as funny and fiercely strong-minded, Claire’s death has left her loved ones devastated.

The family has launched a GoFundMe campaign seeking £10,000 to cover the cost of repatriating their remains. The fundraising target has reportedly been exceeded, with donations surpassing £10,000.
Claire is survived by her 19-year-old son, who lives in Wales, her husband Ibrahim and other relatives.
Her family described her as a woman who lived life on her own terms and whose memory would leave a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
