The Chairman of Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, Kusimo Idris Olalekan, has appealed to the Lagos State Government to intervene in a growing boundary dispute following the erection of a “Welcome to Lagos State” signpost by the Ojodu Local Council Development Area along Yakoyo–Ojodu Road.
Olalekan insisted that the disputed location around Yakoyo–Isheri Ojodu Ward falls within Ogun State’s territorial jurisdiction, warning that the signpost could create confusion among residents and motorists and heighten tensions between the neighbouring states.
He urged the Lagos State Government to prevail on the Ojodu council leadership to refrain from actions capable of escalating the disagreement.

The Ifo chairman also cited the construction of the road by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration as evidence supporting his claim that the area falls under Ifo Local Government.
He called on relevant authorities in both states to resolve the dispute through established procedures and prevent further actions that could trigger tension in the affected community.
