A 40-foot container-laden truck has crashed into road barriers and other vehicles along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway after reportedly suffering brake failure.
The incident occurred at the exit of Kara Bridge, causing a major traffic build-up along the busy highway.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority disclosed the incident on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, saying recovery and evacuation operations had commenced at the scene.
According to the agency, the truck lost control after its brakes reportedly failed before ramming into the demarcation blocks and other vehicles.
The crash caused a backlog of traffic extending towards New Garage, while officials were deployed to manage the situation and clear the affected vehicles.
