
Security operatives have successfully rescued four kidnapped victims, including a pregnant woman, during coordinated military operations across Kogi State and the Kogi–Kwara border.
The rescue missions, carried out by troops in separate operations, highlight ongoing efforts by security forces to combat kidnapping and restore safety in the North Central region.
According to security reports, troops of the 121 Battalion stationed at the Abocho Patrol Base rescued a female victim around 10:00 p.m. on July 7 along the Abocho–Ajegwuwa–Ohuwda Road in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The victim revealed that she had been abducted on July 5 from her residence in Ajiyolo community.
In a related operation, troops of the 12 Brigade deployed at the Ogbagbo Block Position rescued a pregnant woman during a night patrol along the Jakura–Ogbagbo Road at approximately 3:45 a.m. on July 8.

The woman disclosed that she was kidnapped on June 28 near Obajana community alongside three others. She managed to regain freedom after sustained military pressure forced the kidnappers to abandon their captives and flee.
Further operations by troops at the Isanlu Patrol Base led to the interception of two additional victims who had escaped from captivity.
The victims were found during a patrol near Latta community along the Kogi–Kwara boundary. They reported being abducted while working on farms in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State and taken to a kidnappers’ hideout in the Chigogo Hills.
All rescued victims have received initial medical attention and have since been reunited with their families.
Security authorities reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying operations against kidnapping and other criminal activities, assuring residents of continued efforts to safeguard lives and property across the region.
