Three suspects have been arrested by the Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) over the alleged murder and secret burial of a young woman identified as Hannah, an indigene of Kebbi State.
The arrests were announced in Benin City by the Deputy Corps Commander in charge of Operations, Richard Balogun, during the parade of the suspects.
According to the security corps, preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased’s boyfriend, identified as Daddy Alli from Taraba State, allegedly conspired with two other suspects to kill Hannah before attempting to conceal the crime.
The suspects were reportedly tracked and arrested following intelligence gathered by officers attached to the Ovia North-East Local Government Area operations and tactical teams.
Investigators alleged that after the incident, the suspects transported Hannah’s body to an uncompleted building, where they secretly buried her in what authorities believe was an effort to hide the crime and prevent investigators from uncovering the circumstances surrounding her death.

The security corps said the suspects have since been handed over to the Ekiadolor Police Division for a comprehensive investigation and possible prosecution.
Authorities also disclosed that another suspect, identified simply as Dada, remains at large. Security operatives have launched efforts to locate and arrest him.
Officials added that the suspects made confessional statements during preliminary investigations, while police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Hannah’s death and determine the role of each suspect in the alleged crime.
