
Three suspected kidnappers were reportedly arrested at Ihotu Park in Benue State after one of their alleged victims recognized them while they were attempting to board a vehicle to Makurdi.
According to eyewitness accounts circulating on social media, the woman claimed she had previously been kidnapped by the suspects and later released after a ransom was paid. She reportedly identified one of the bags in their possession as one that had been taken from her during the incident.
The woman immediately raised the alarm, leading to the arrest of one suspect inside the vehicle, while two others allegedly fled but were later apprehended.
Witnesses also claimed that security personnel discovered a Ghana-Must-Go bag containing about ₦11 million inside the suspects’ vehicle. The money was reportedly counted at the scene before being taken to the police station as evidence.

An angry crowd was said to have attempted to attack the suspects before the manager of Ihotu Park alerted soldiers. Military personnel and police officers reportedly arrived and rescued the suspects from mob action.
The woman who identified the suspects reportedly accompanied them to the police station. Another woman later arrived and allegedly identified the same suspects as those who had kidnapped her in a separate incident.
According to the reports, the suspects have since been transferred to Makurdi for further investigation. It was also claimed that the Benue State Governor expressed interest in the case and directed the appropriate authorities to ensure a thorough investigation.
As of the time of this report, the police have not officially confirmed the allegations or the amount of money reportedly recovered.
