Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has named Marc-André ter Stegen, Thibaut Courtois and Gianluigi Donnarumma as the best goalkeepers in world football right now.
Speaking on the finest shot-stoppers in the game, the Udinese keeper ranked Ter Stegen first, followed by Courtois and Donnarumma. He explained that his choice was influenced by watching Ter Stegen rise through the ranks at Borussia Mönchengladbach while Okoye was a young player there.
“Ter Stegen is No. 1 for me because when I was a young player at Borussia Mönchengladbach, he was already playing with the U-19s and I always looked up to him,” Okoye said.

Despite the ranking, Okoye believes Donnarumma is currently the strongest goalkeeper in the world. The Italian, who plays for Manchester City, stands out for his current form.
“But right now, I think Donnarumma is the strongest goalkeeper. At the moment, he’s the best. He is on a different level,” he added.
