
Nigerian Afrobeats star Wizkid has made history as the first African artiste to surpass 11 billion total streams on Spotify across all credits.
The milestone was announced on Tuesday by music chart platform ChartsAfrica, which described the singer as a global superstar. In a post shared on X, ChartsAfrica wrote that Wizkid had become “the first African artiste ever to cross 11 billion Spotify streams across all credits,” calling it another first in Spotify’s history for the Nigerian star.

The announcement comes just four days after the release of Wizkid’s collaboration with DJ Tunez, State of Mind, which dropped on May 15, 2026. The single recorded over 685,000 global streams on Spotify within its first day.
