The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed awareness of a viral video showing abducted school staff pleading for rescue, stating that investigations are already underway.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, disclosed this on Sunday while responding to inquiries about the authenticity of the disturbing footage circulating online.
“I have seen the video; we are working on it,” Olayinka said, adding that the police could not immediately verify the video’s authenticity but are actively investigating the situation.
The viral clip features a woman identified as Mrs. Alamu, who claims to be the principal of Community High School, Esinele.
In an emotional appeal, she alleged that armed men attacked the school on Friday morning, abducting several teachers and students in the Oriire Local Government Area of the state.
According to her, the incident occurred around 9:30 a.m., leaving both staff and students in captivity.

Authorities have assured the public that efforts are ongoing to resolve the situation.
