
The Suspect And The Car
A domestic driver employed by a Pentecostal bishop in Asaba, Delta State, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his employer and fleeing with the victim’s Toyota Prado SUV.
The suspect, whose identity has not yet been disclosed due to ongoing investigations, was apprehended in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He was reportedly arrested alongside another individual suspected to be the buyer of the stolen vehicle.
According to the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, the arrest followed a swift, intelligence-driven operation carried out by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad in Awkuzu.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver, who also served as a domestic staff member, allegedly conspired with other accomplices still at large to carry out the killing before escaping with the bishop’s vehicle in an attempt to sell it.

Police operatives, acting on credible intelligence, tracked and intercepted the suspects, successfully recovering the stolen SUV and taking both individuals into custody for further interrogation.
The police command confirmed that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the criminal network and to fully unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities have also advised the public to exercise caution when employing domestic workers, urging proper background checks and continuous monitoring to prevent similar occurrences.
The Anambra State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to proactive policing and intelligence-led operations to safeguard lives and property.
