
Armed men suspected to be kidnappers have abducted one resident and left another injured during an attack in a community in Oyo State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Monday at Ago Aare in the Oke Ogun area of Oyo State, when about three armed men stormed the community and carried out the abduction.
According to reports, the victim was identified as Wasiu Aleshinloye, who was forcefully taken away during the operation. Another resident sustained injuries in the attack.

Confirming the development, the Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, stated that the case was reported at the Tede Division on May 11, 2026, around 10:20 p.m.
Security authorities are yet to disclose further details on rescue efforts or arrests, but investigations are said to be ongoing to track down the perpetrators and ensure the safe return of the abducted victim.
The latest attack adds to growing concerns over insecurity in parts of the Oke Ogun axis of the state, where residents have repeatedly called for increased security presence.
