
Troops of the Nigerian Army, operating under the 1 Brigade in collaboration with Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY), have neutralised a suspected terrorist and destroyed multiple criminal camps during a coordinated offensive in Zamfara State.
The operation, which took place in the early hours of April 27, was carried out in the Dan Gajeru and Kokomba areas of Tsafe Local Government Area.
According to security sources, troops engaged suspected terrorists in a gun battle during a fighting patrol around 4:00 a.m.

Following the exchange, one terrorist was confirmed neutralised. The troops also recovered two locally made firearms, two motorcycles, eight mobile phones, and a quantity of hard drugs.
In addition to the recovery, several terrorist hideouts were successfully dismantled, dealing a significant blow to criminal elements operating within the area.
Military sources further revealed that clearance operations are ongoing to consolidate the gains achieved and to prevent the resurgence of terrorist activities in the region.
