Controversial Nigerian rapper, Speed Darlington, has taken a swipe at street-hop singer Portable, claiming that the latter’s alleged wealth is not reflected in his physical appearance.
The outspoken artiste made the remark during a recent livestream session with content creator Peller, where he explained his decision to stay off music streaming platforms like Audiomack.
When advised to follow Portable’s approach by uploading his songs to the platform, Speed Darlington dismissed the idea, insisting that there is little financial benefit from streaming services.

“I can’t see any proof of money on Portable… Anyone who wants to listen to my music must pay for it,” he stated.
His comments come amid ongoing conversations about revenue generation in the Nigerian music industry, especially from digital streaming platforms.
Recall that weeks earlier, Portable had publicly appealed to industry figures, including renowned music executive Don Jazzy, for support in digital marketing.
He lamented that despite having a global audience streaming his songs, the financial returns have been disappointing.
The exchange adds to the growing debate among artists about the profitability of streaming platforms versus direct monetization strategies.
