Nigerian singer Omah Lay has expressed strong confidence that he will become the wealthiest African artist in the world within the next few years.
In a recent interview with Kiss Xtra, the 28-year-old star said his ambition extends beyond music, as he plans to build innovative systems capable of creating global impact.
“I am going to be the wealthiest African artiste ever in a few years. I am going to build stuff that would change the world,” he said, adding that his creativity is central to his identity and wellbeing.

Omah Lay also spoke about his artistic mindset, noting that his need to create music is deeply personal. “I am crazy. My head is not correct. I need to create art to feel good,” he stated.
The singer further mentioned some of his major influences in the music industry, including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Drake, The Weeknd, and Harry Styles, describing them as artists he looks up to musically.
According to him, these global icons have shaped his sound and continue to inspire his journey in Afrobeats and the wider music industry.
