Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested four suspected armed robbers believed to have been terrorising residents of Ughelli and surrounding communities in Delta State.
The arrests followed multiple complaints from residents over a criminal gang allegedly responsible for violent attacks, including the use of cutlasses to injure victims and the theft of motorcycles.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, the suspects were arrested during a coordinated early morning operation carried out by the Command’s Special Assignment Team in collaboration with local vigilante members on April 20, 2026.
Three suspects were initially apprehended at different locations within Ughelli metropolis, where items including a cutlass and a black face mask were recovered from them.
The suspects were identified as Surajo Atar (25) from Sokoto State, Abba Musa (24), and Babangida Yusuf (25), both from Kano State.
