
The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected armed robbers during a routine patrol in the Idimu area of Lagos State, recovering weapons, a motorcycle, and several suspected stolen items.
According to a statement from the Command, the suspects were apprehended in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at about 2:00 a.m. along Car Wash Bus Stop by First Bank in Idimu.
Police officers on patrol reportedly intercepted the suspects, who were riding on a motorcycle at the time of the arrest.
A search conducted on them led to the recovery of a machete concealed in their clothing, an army camouflage uniform, four mobile phones, a power bank, some squeezed naira notes, and a Bajaj motorcycle with registration number AKD 40 OM.
The Command stated that the recovered items are suspected to have been stolen from victims during previous robbery operations.

Preliminary investigations also revealed that the suspects had been actively involved in robbing unsuspecting members of the public before fleeing crime scenes.
The suspects, identified as Abdullahi Mustapha (20), Salisu Sannusi (30), and Jamiu Sahidu (26), are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Tijani Fatai, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Lagos State.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency hotlines.
The police described the arrest as part of ongoing efforts to curb crime and strengthen security across the state.
