
A 65-year-old farmer, Kehinde Ojo, has been killed in an alleged attack by suspected herdsmen in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday at Igbopupa in Yawota, near Alawusa, where the assailants were said to have demanded access to graze their cattle on the deceased’s cassava farm.
Sources within the community revealed that Ojo had visited his farm around 4:00 p.m. to inspect his crops when he was attacked and macheted by the suspects.

He was rushed to a hospital in Ogbomoso for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries at about 2:00 a.m. on Monday.
The matter was subsequently reported to the police at Ikoyi-Ile.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, stated that three suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing.
“Yes, Pa Kehinde Idowu sustained serious injuries and was confirmed dead at the hospital. Meanwhile, three persons have been arrested in connection with his murder, and investigation is ongoing,” Ayanlade said.
