
Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have recovered a stolen vehicle reportedly used to transport suspected vandalised materials in Sapele, Delta State.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on March 30, 2026, at about 1:30 p.m., following a tip-off from a concerned resident who reported sighting a Toyota Sienna bus conveying suspicious items, including iron scraps and a gas cylinder.

Acting swiftly on the intelligence, a patrol team from the Sapele Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, was dispatched to the location.
Upon spotting the approaching police team, the suspects reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled into a nearby bush, evading immediate arrest.
The vehicle was subsequently recovered and towed to the police station.
Police authorities disclosed that preliminary investigations are currently underway, while efforts have been intensified to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
