
Super Eagles stars Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke have been shortlisted for the 2026 LaLiga African Player of the Season award.
The Nigerian duo will compete against 18 other top African players across Spain’s top flight for the prestigious accolade.
Among the notable nominees is Inaki Williams of Athletic Bilbao, a two-time winner of the award. Also on the list are Sevilla trio Pape Gueye, Thomas Partey, and Nicolas Pepe, alongside Levante’s promising forward Karl Etta Eyong.

Now in its fifth edition, the award ceremony is set to take place in Lagos, Nigeria, underscoring the growing recognition of African talent in European football.
Previous winners include Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze and Morocco international goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
The winner will be decided through a voting process that combines fan participation across Africa with the assessment of a panel of experts.
