
An Accident Scene
A tragic road accident along the Abuja–Kaduna highway has claimed the life of a senior military officer, Major A.M. Abubakar, who was a student at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College.
The fatal incident reportedly occurred on Saturday at Azara village, near Jere, in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The crash involved a commercial Sharon bus and a truck belonging to BUA Cement.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who disclosed the development via a post on X on Sunday, the late officer was a passenger in the commercial vehicle at the time of the accident.
He was confirmed dead at the scene, while other passengers sustained minor injuries.

Sources further revealed that the remains of the officer were taken to a nearby hospital, where his personal belongings were later handed over to his family upon their arrival.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities have not officially disclosed the cause of the crash. Investigations are, however, ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Efforts to reach the Federal Road Safety Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, for comments were unsuccessful, as calls and messages sent to him had yet to receive a response.
The incident adds to growing concerns over safety on the Abuja–Kaduna highway, a major route known for frequent traffic and security challenges.
