A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has ordered the remand of a 37-year-old nurse, Kehinde Adesanya, over her alleged involvement in an abortion that reportedly led to the death of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.
The deceased, identified as 23-year-old Victoria Ariyo, was serving at Abeokuta South Local Government Area before her death, which sources linked to complications arising from a terminated pregnancy.
According to reports, Ariyo was allegedly in a relationship with the Local Government Inspector (LGI) of the NYSC, Abass Olalekan.
The relationship reportedly resulted in a pregnancy, which was later terminated under circumstances now being investigated by authorities.
Olalekan had earlier been arraigned before the court on a two-count charge of conspiracy and attempt to procure abortion. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N500,000.

The nurse, Adesanya, was subsequently arraigned on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, attempt to procure abortion, and murder.
Prosecutors alleged that she supplied drugs intended to terminate the pregnancy, which allegedly led to the corps member’s death.
Police counsel, Solomon Babalola, told the court that the offences were committed between January and March 2026 in the Ikereku area of Laderin, Abeokuta.
He further stated that the actions contravene relevant sections of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State.
Babalola urged the court to remand the defendant pending legal advice from the State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
In her ruling, the presiding Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Sam-Obaleye, granted the application and ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Ibara Correctional Centre.
The case was adjourned until May 26, 2026, for further mention.
