
The Adamawa State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of a 46-year-old man, Ahmed Mohammed, whose body was discovered hanging from a tree in Girei Local Government Area.
The incident came to light on Monday at the foothills of Bagale Mountain. Mohammed, a resident of Anguwan Hona, was found under circumstances that remain unclear.

In a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the police confirmed that the body was taken to Cottage Hospital in Girei, where a doctor officially pronounced him dead.
According to the statement, the case has been classified as a sudden and unnatural death, reported on March 23, 2026, following the discovery at the scene.
Police say investigations are ongoing to determine what led to the incident and have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist.
Authorities added that more details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
