
The Oyo State Police Command has called on residents to assist in identifying the body of an unidentified woman discovered in Egbeda Local Government Area.
In a statement issued in Ibadan on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Olayinka Ayanlade, said the incident was reported by a Good Samaritan who found the corpse on Saturday.
According to the statement, the discovery was made at a car wash near Ile Marun, Iwo Road, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, where the lifeless body was seen lying inside a drainage channel.
The matter was promptly reported to the Egbeda Divisional Police Headquarters.

Ayanlade disclosed that a team of police operatives, led by the Divisional Crime Officer, was immediately deployed to the scene. A preliminary examination revealed visible injuries around the head, raising suspicions of possible foul play.
He noted that investigations are currently underway to determine the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding her death.
The police spokesperson urged members of the public, especially those with missing female relatives, to visit the Egbeda Divisional Police Headquarters or any nearest police station to assist in identifying the victim.
He assured residents that the command is committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring that those responsible are brought to justice.
The command also advised the public to remain vigilant and continue providing useful information to support ongoing security efforts in the state.
