Phyna
Reality TV star Phyna, winner of Big Brother Naija Level Up season, has shared details about her difficult upbringing, revealing that her birth name is Blessing—a name she says no longer resonates with her life experiences.
In a recent interview, Phyna explained that she grew to dislike the name because it did not reflect the challenges she faced growing up. According to her, the meaning of “Blessing” felt disconnected from a childhood she described as lacking the love and support the name suggests.
She recalled enduring emotional struggles while growing up, often searching for affection and acceptance from family members, friends, and romantic partners. Instead, she said she frequently encountered rejection and harsh criticism.

Phyna described her upbringing as turbulent, adding that she missed out on many opportunities that were available to other teenagers through parental or family support.
Despite the hardships, the reality star said she remained confident about her future. She revealed that even as a child, she believed she would eventually become successful and well-known.
According to her, she often told members of her extended family—despite being scolded or mistreated—that one day they would see her on television and witness her success.
Phyna said her determination to change her circumstances kept her going through the difficult periods of her life.
