
Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted six Muslim worshippers during Taraweeh prayers at a mosque in the Azara community of Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The attack occurred at night while residents had gathered at the mosque for Ramadan prayers. According to a community source, the assailants stormed the area and fired gunshots into the air to disperse worshippers before seizing four men and two women.
The source added that the gunmen also invaded another residence as they fled, abducting two more individuals. However, the two victims reportedly escaped while being taken into the bush.

A community leader, who requested anonymity, confirmed the incident and identified the six abducted worshippers as Saifullahi Harisu, Yakubu Yunusa, Abba Minkailu, Yusha’u Sadiku, Maryam Abdullahi, and Aisha Yakubu.
He further disclosed that the kidnappers had contacted the community and were demanding a ransom of N30 million for the victims’ release.
Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, were unsuccessful as of the time of this report.
