The family of Ihotu John Rebecca, a Nigerian women’s footballer, has appealed for public assistance following her abduction along the Benin Expressway.
Rebecca, who plays for Pacesetter Queens FC in the NWFL Premiership, was reportedly kidnapped while returning home. Her abductors are said to be demanding a ransom of ₦20 million for her release.

Describing the situation as urgent, her family has called on football stakeholders, club officials, sponsors, government authorities, sports administrators, and concerned Nigerians to intervene and support efforts to secure her safe return.
They emphasized that Rebecca is a dedicated athlete who has committed herself to advancing women’s football in Nigeria and urged swift action as concerns grow over her safety.
