A 30-year-old woman, identified as Abigail Adebayo, has reportedly died in the Ijebu Ode area of Ogun State following emotional distress linked to the rejection of her planned marriage by her fiancé’s family.
According to information gathered, Abigail had been in a relationship with her partner since September 2025, and the couple had been making plans to marry.
However, the relationship reportedly faced opposition after the man’s family learned that Abigail had three children from a previous relationship.
Sources say the disagreement caused significant tension, and the matter was reported to the Nigeria Police Force.

The incident was handled by officers attached to the Atan-Ijebu division of the command.
The spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command confirmed that the woman was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead.
He added that detectives visited both the scene and the hospital, and investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding her death.
Authorities have assured the public that all relevant facts will be uncovered as the investigation continues.
