A Lagos family is demanding answers over the disappearance of their son, Osas Azenabor, who has been missing for 15 months following an alleged police arrest.
According to his father, Francis Azenabor, Osas was arrested during a police operation on November 1, 2024, at Mile 12 and reportedly taken to Ketu Police Station.
An eyewitness at the scene helped Osas contact his wife, confirming that he had been detained.
When his wife arrived at the station, officers denied that Osas was there and advised her to check other police divisions.
The family subsequently visited several locations, including Oshodi Police Station, Badagry Prison, and Kirikiri Prison, but were unable to locate him.

Francis said that the eyewitness later identified the officer responsible for his son’s arrest, but efforts to engage with the police yielded no resolution.
Some officers involved were briefly detained following a senior officer’s order but were later released, leaving the family without answers.
Despite involving lawyers and visiting multiple police divisions, the family says the authorities have remained silent.
They are now appealing to higher police leadership, including the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector-General of Police, to intervene.
“My son has been missing for over a year. He has three children, and we are desperate for answers,” Francis said, describing the ordeal as a continuous cycle of frustration and uncertainty.
The family’s call highlights growing concerns over accountability and transparency in police operations, as well as the emotional toll on families when individuals go missing under unclear circumstances.
