
A deadly bandit attack on a Joint Task Force base in Gwana community, Gwana District of Alkaleri Local Government Area, Bauchi State, has claimed the lives of two soldiers and a local vigilante, while three residents were abducted.
The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed the incident, which occurred on Sunday. Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib, said the soldiers were attached to the 33 Artillery Brigade, Bauchi.

“Three members of the affected community were also abducted, and about seven bandits were neutralised by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Police during the gun duel,” Habib said.
In response, additional security personnel have been deployed to the area to restore calm, protect displaced residents, and prevent further attacks.
State Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, assured the public that intelligence operations are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and secure the release of the abducted victims.
Authorities have promised to provide further updates as the situation develops.
