
Bobby Williams Adeoye, son of late gospel singer Omije Ojumi, has spoken about his mother’s passing, explaining why the news did not entirely take him by surprise.
Adeoye shared this revelation during an emotional tribute at his mother’s service of songs, where he described her as a loving, caring, and exceptionally strong woman who devoted her life to his growth and success.
According to him, Omije Ojumi was deeply committed to his wellbeing, especially his education, always eager to know how his day went and determined to see him excel in all aspects of life.
He noted that her sacrifices and encouragement played a major role in shaping who he is today.
He also recalled her cheerful personality, saying she had a natural gift for humour and often cracked jokes that kept their home lively and joyful.

Adeoye said her ability to make people laugh is one of the things he misses most since her passing.
Reflecting on the moment he received the news of her death, he explained that although it was painful, it was not entirely unexpected, as his mother often spoke about death while she was alive, preparing him emotionally over time.
He concluded by expressing his enduring love for her, stating that although she is gone, she will continue to live on in his heart and memories.
Omije Ojumi, whose real name was Bunmi Akinaanu Adeoye, passed away on January 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of gospel music, personal sacrifice, and devotion to motherhood.
